Biography

The design team behind the 2+ concept is Niels Grubak Iversen and Marcus Hannibal Madsen. Iversen and Madsen both graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Design from Designskolen Kolding in Denmark.

Iversen is currently in an MSc course in Design and Transport at Coventry University, United Kingdom. His main interests within the field of design are vehicle design, the visual language of vehicles and sustainability. 

Madsen is currently interning at Who Made ID in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Description

2+ is designed for the people of the city and is car that adapts to the surroundings and deals with problems such as lack of space and pollution. Different features like the highly flexible interior, customizable interactive dashboard and the possibility of sideways parking are some of the things that make the 2+ stand out. The small compact can carry either two people with luggage or four people without luggage. Electric powered wheel engines; the position of the wheels outside the body allows them to make 90 degree turns, enabling the car to drive sideways. Parking in a very tight space is therefore not an issue. The wheel engines are driven by a high-power Lithium-Ion battery package that powers to the engines within each wheel. The battery package gives the car autonomy of 200 miles, after which the batteries can be recharged in only 15 minutes. On the inside, natural materials are blended with state of the art technology. The seats and floor of the car are made from teak wood to give a homely atmosphere. The dashboard consists of a single touch screen where the instrumentation can be arranged and customised individually any way manner.
