Description:
Well-developed countries like the USA have many metropolitan cities like New York, California, etc. On average a single household in the USA owns more than one vehicle because they have to commute individually to different places simultaneously, which increases traffic congestion. 76% of them are single occupancy vehicles, so the resources are underused. It requires a substantial amount of parking space to park those vehicles instead of using the land for housing thus increasing the cost of living in cities.
Renault BINATE is a fully autonomous vehicle that approaches American households by solving their need to own multiple cars. Binate can adapt to the needs of each family member. for example, in fission mode, the car will split into two so the father can drive in one of the pods to his office and the mother use the other pod to go to her office which is located at the other end of the city.
During weekends the car can be used in fusion mode the pods would combine so the entire family can travel in one car to their favourite places. Binate also has 4 uni wheels inside the wheel hub that can be taken out and used to commute to nearby places from the parking lot. so one product can provide multiple mobility solutions.
BINATE also has (AMIA) Adaptive Mobility Integration in Architecture. binate can be integrated with the house and the car can work together in harmony by converting their parking space into extended living space.
Three pillars of sustainability.
People-
This vehicle will be able to satisfy the mobility needs of each member of a family and it will be able to extend their living space to its maximum extent.
Profit-
An average family in the USA spends a major share of their income on housing and transportation solutions about 17% and 30% respectively. BINATE can provide both, a mobility solution and also as an extended living space thus a family can save a lot in their major expenditures by owning a single car which can be used in multiple ways. and a compact home which is less expensive as the BINATE can be used as an extended living space.
Planet-
Instead of owning multiple cars, a family have one mobility solution, which can save a lot of resources, and lessen traffic congestion.
Requires smaller to no parking space because it will become a part of the house.
Powered by electric propulsion.
The way we use our cars is changing. Already a car is more than just a way to get from one place to another. Full of technology, it’s becoming an interactive and personalized space that connects passengers to other cars, people and objects around them.
