Movin’On Challenge Design 2023 Theme is Announced

Design a disruptive mobility solution that balances the three recognized pillars of Sustainability: PEOPLE, PROFIT and PLANET

Aug. 28, 2022 — One of the premier global mobility design competitions has announced its theme for 2023. Entering its 23rd year, Movin’On Challenge Design, inspired by Michelin, is a competition driven by Movin’On, the globally recognized co-innovation ecosystem for sustainable mobility.

Sustainability is a key driver in the acceleration of mobility transformation. Designers and creatives are uniquely positioned to recognize and present solutions that benefit stakeholders of all three pillars of sustainability.

“Disruptive approaches are needed to accelerate mobility transformation, and to be fully impactful, they must have a sustainable balance,” said Kimbrelly Kegler, Movin’On Challenge Design chair.

The 2023 Movin’On Challenge Design task is to design a disruptive mobility solution that balances the three recognized pillars of sustainability—People, Profit and Planet.

Entries should present a vivid example of safe and efficient mobility that meets end user expectations and supports a viable business model for movement of people in an environmentally friendly manner.

Artists, designers, engineers, architects, city planners and creatives worldwide are invited to enter either in teams or individually. The competition opens (entries.michelinchallengedesign.com) on September 1, 2022, and closes February 28, 2023. Entries are judged by a prestigious international jury, including heads of advanced design for major mobility organizations.

The top three winners will be announced at the next Movin’On Summit to be held in Brussels in mid-2023. Since its inception in 2000, Movin’On Challenge Design has received more than 14,000 entries from 134 countries. Recent winners and Judge’s Award recipients have included university and graduate program students, professional designers, engineers, architects, futurists and cross-functional teams.
