Description:

Citroën Gouttelette is a mini MPV that re-interprets the tradition of legendary Citroën cars such as Traction Avant, the spartan 2CV, and the luxurious DS. It captures the spirit of unusually shaped and extraordinarily engineered Citroëns that were first to introduce technological solutions such as front-wheel drive, independent suspension, an integral steel body, and hydraulic suspension.

Following the traditional as well as contemporary Citroën design, Gouttelette is extravagant in its concept, architecture, and styling – and has a clear Citroen character. It adopts Citroen’s affection for open and airy, softly suspended, comfortable vehicles with a touch of extravagance.

The most obvious and radical feature of Gouttelette is its seat configuration, with the first row of seats placed over the front wheels. This seat positioning results in a spacious interior and exceptional passenger accommodation achieved within an exterior of only four meters in length.

The dominant styling feature of Gouttelette is a one box, cab forward architecture with dramatically descending roofline and ascending underbody. Dynamic proportions are enhanced with long front and short rear overhang, and an arched roofline. Soft, smooth, simple, and streamlined surfaces are a legacy of models such as DS. Exterior detail is restrained but picks up characteristic Citroen design cues, such as the 2CV˙s segmented front hood, and the typical Citroën descending roofline combined with horizontal rear lights.

Gouttelette is a hybrid powered environmentaly-friendly vehicle with a boxer internal combustion engine and auxiliary, direct-drive electric motors.
