Transportation design has always been my passion and inspiration. Although my career has taken a different turn, I have never given up the passion that brought me into design. With the opportunity of Michelin Challenge Design 2004, I want to show an ideological approach where a product is shaped by socio-economical reality of its (Chinese) market. I want a design that is practical and conceptual at the same time without following the tracks of the commercial trends. I want to preserve a certain degrees of naiveness to reflect a market that is still in its infancy. However, a recent trip to China showed me a market flourished with the latest offerings from all major manufacturers. It became clear to me that China will never develop its own identity other than an all inclusiveness to international influences.
