Biography:

We are students of industrial design at Tongji University, Shanghai, China. During the last couple of years we have been exposed to a lot of auto design works and taken part in a variety of auto design competitions.

In 2003, Carstyling International auto design competition, our project ‘Two Seat Taxi of Future City’ won the excellent award. In the summer of 2003, we took part in the design and execution of Chumhui No. 2, a fuel cell automobile. The 1:1 scale model was displayed at the 2003 Shanghai International Industry Fair.

‘Fresh Cube’ was invited by the Michelin Challenge Design exhibit for the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Mich. USA.

We will graduate next year and are now actively preparing setting up our own studio named DEPLUS. We have to say farewell to our university but our career in the design business has just started.

Description:

Fresh Cube powered by hydrogen is a mini pickup offering Chinese farmers the very reliable way of keeping their vegetables, fruits or flowers absolutely fresh. China is well known for her diversity of delicious foods. One of the secrets is that we do give great regard to the freshness of vegetables. How to keep the produce fresh has become the clue of the concept of Fresh Cube.

The open and transparent shelves design and a big skylight would promote the photosynthesis of vegetables. And a built in water circulation system (generated by hydrogen power system) provides an appropriate temperature and humidity.

With such feasible storage conditions, there’s no need to worry if the goods are still fresh when people shuttle between the restaurants, markets and residential districts in Fresh Cube filled with all kinds of vegetables. And it’s also available to convert the car into a vendor counter in case of need, which would be greatly convenient for farmers to sell their produce in markets.

In short, with the environmental protection and full circulation, this mini pick up would be as fresh as her name.
