Description:
Described by the Cadillac design team as “emotion on four wheels,” the CTS Coupe makes a dramatic design statement and serves as a natural extension of the brand’s distinctive Art and Science design language first introduced in 1999.
Signature design cues of the CTS Coupe include a number of elements that suggest the look of a precision cut diamond – particularly in the rear – using carefully cut angles and bevels and classic Cadillac vertical headlamps and taillamps. The result is a forward-looking design that acknowledges the brand’s heritage without resorting to nostalgia. The surfaces of the CTS Coupe are complex, inviting careful inspection. Although based on the CTS Sedan and sharing the same wheelbase, the overall height and length are reduced approximately two inches with all-new hand-sculpted bodywork that bulges around the wheels. The result is fast-rake styling and a muscular, ready-to-pounce stance.
As is the case with its design, the CTS Coupe extends the acclaimed capabilities of the sedan in terms of performance technology. This includes the capability to support a broad engine range of gasoline and diesel engines. The CTS Coupe can be equipped with a venerable 3.6L V-6 powerplant or new 2.9L turbo-diesel, the latter for use in international markets with an estimated 250 horsepower (184 kW) and 406 lb-ft. of torque (550 Nm).
