Design Brief

With increase in population there is an increase in the need for personal mobility. The hike in oil prices and taxes is making the user rely on public transport.Currently there are about 820 vehicles added to Mumbai’s streets everyday, which is expected to increase in the future. This increase in vehicular traffic not only causes congestion but also defilement of the natural environment.

Mumbai being the Economic capital of India and also the city of dreams, there is a general trend of migration from the surrounding areas. This has led to a rapid growth of the city not in terms of infrastructure but also in terms of lifestyle. This rapid modernization has created a vast gap between the user and nature.

From these facts we brought out a design solution focusing more on the environment, where our wheels are capturing and storing carbon. This carbon is recycled to be used in manufacturing our car. In return for giving back to the environment the user gets privileges in terms of tax exemptions. This inspires the user to be more environmental friendly.

How does your design answer the anticipated preferences, lifestyles and transportation needs for the people in your country or region?

Mumbai is megacity with high taxes only expected to increase in the future. With the ever increase in Global warming, people are becoming more and more aware. THus in the future scenario, giving back to the environment will not only be an aspirational lifestyle, but also a way of earning previlages to counteract the increasing taxes.

What makes your design unique?

Our entire vehicle is made from carbon. So the carbon captured is not only benefitting the user, but also getting completely recycled. This creates a new image for the trasnportation industry.

What technologies, innovations, lifestyle needs and concepts have you incorporated into your design? How?

Nano-silica cells providing 20 times more range than Li-ions. Also these cells get recharged through friction using Active Surface Technology.

Electro-chloroplast membrane with variable transperancy enabling panaromic viewing and privacy at the same time.

Rotational motion of wheels help in capturing Carbon from the environment.
