Design Brief

User Factor

A ‘Design for Everyone’ has been provided for besides normal users, young people, the elderly, people with temporary and permanent diseases and, most importantly, all disabled people can use. Everyone who can obtain A2 licenses can use it.
Size Factor of the Device

It has been designed in the size of an armchair maximum. It has a rather small, shell like form. It has been aimed to occupy less space in traffic and on road along with a sufficient size, comfort and usability. It has been aimed to develop a user-oriented design and a transportation environment that strives to reduce environmental factors and accidents to minimum.

Navigation Factor

Its navigation factor has been installed in the shape of a joystick, which can easily be used by everyone. It is able to turn left and right without occupying space and revolving. The turning performance of the vehicle, which occupies a little larger space than a seating area, is much higher than those of two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles.

It has one larger and one smaller slanted adjacent wheel that it uses the former while turning right and the latter while turning left (like the singular operation of rows to turn a boat left or right). One stops while the other operates and turning is easily controlled by the joystick without taking up space while revolving. It has one of its wheels approximately two times larger than the other. In variation, these can have a ratio of 1/1.5, 1/2 or 1/3.

Safety factor

It has enhanced safety factor thanks to the removal of falling and overturning. Door design protects drivers better than the to-wheelers like motorcycles and bicycles as a barrier. The reason is that the small and large adjacent ‘wheels are slanted’ and it reveals its difference with its ‘conic structure’ from other two-wheeler transportation devices that do not have shelters or safety systems. The form includes and holds the driver and half-open cabin and barrier-shaped door that grasps the driver provides a safe driving for the user.

Metaphoric Factor

Horizontally placed side-by-side or successive two-wheels have been examined; this kind of transportation devices have been studies and by working on ‘a new structure’ so that the identical or similar systems are not repeated, two 45∞ slanted wheels in different sizes form a conic shape and have been developed into a new transportation form.

Explanation

It has a tumbler working mechanism (ginger style). The tumbler mechanism has the ease of having the device’s battery, engine, the human weight and metals, and transmission organs on the lower part and the human weight and pressure under the circle centre when the driver is seated.

How does your design answer the anticipated preferences, lifestyles and transportation needs for the people in your country or region?

An ‘Individual Transportation Device’ has been designed. The general purpose is to develop a user-friendly transportation device that reduces the transportation accidents of temporarily and permanently disabled, young and elderly (people with muscular problems with deteriorated muscle strength manipulation) and, naturally, all adults. It especially had been aimed to incorporate the disabled and the elderly people into life and liberate them. In short, the device has been designed ‘for all.’ As a secondary purpose, the goal is to design a vehicle that occupies a small place in traffic and create a calm traffic.

What makes your design unique?

The general structure has been designed in a horizontal Geometrical Conic shape with a small wheel attached on the end and a large wheel attached on its wide base; by forming a horizontal conic shaped structure, a previously non-existing individual transportation device has been designed. A vehicle in similar structure has not been detected.

Building an individual transportation device that is useful everyone (including the disabled) and reduces accidents. It has been aimed to obtain and preserve the patents rights of the project in order to realize it and enter and rank the patented project into contests, to market it to important transportation producers.

A welcoming perspective towards individual transportation devices has been attained throughout the century. Thus, the number of vehicles used by one person in everyday life has increased and transportation has been personalized into individual piloting. Today, automobiles are used by one person in each of them and they occupying large spaces in the traffic, they make the traffic heavier. Also, many traffic accidents occur that stem from usage problems. Surveys about the future are based on the prediction that ‘personal-individual’ transportation devices are going to be used and studies on near future have been conducted by us. As result of all these reasons, an ergonomic, safe, sheltered, individual-personal transportation device that can be used by all individuals above the age of 16 after obtaining two-wheel motor vehicle license has been developed.

What technologies, innovations, lifestyle needs and concepts have you incorporated into your design? How?
This individual transportation device:

  1. has been planned as a vehicle used in urban areas and governed by one person. All persons with A2 licences can use it.
  2. has been designed ‘for all.’
  3. has especially been aimed to incorporate the disabled and the elderly into life and liberate them.
  4. has been aimed to occupy a smaller space in traffic and create a calmer traffic that consumes less energy.
  5. features a brand new structure as a transportation device.
  6. has been designed in a maximum of an armchair. As appears, it has a rather small, shell-like form.
  7. has been aimed to occupy less space in traffic and on road along with a sufficient size, comfort and usability.
  8. has been aimed to develop a user-oriented design and a transportation environment that strives to reduce environmental factors and accidents to minimum.
  9. has a horizontal conic shape that constitutes the three dimensional structure.
  10. has been alternatively named as ‘Koniver’ after the Turkish-English sound similarity of ‘Cone Wheel’-‘Koni Tekerlek’ name of its conic shape.
  11. has enabled to position and seat the driver inside the conic seating space.
  12. has provided a healthy and comfortable driving by seating and supporting areas on the simple saddle-like seating surface while the seating takes place inside the cone. Thusly, the elderly, an vehicle that can be used by disabled or drivers with deteriorated muscular ability easily, fearlessly and in a healthy as without presenting the balance problem presented by motorcycles or bicycles.
  13. enables the person to transport safely. Safety is provided by the conic shell structure.
  14. has enhanced safety factor thanks to the removal of falling and overturning.
  15. is made up of two wheels, one of which is large and the other is small.
  16. has its parallel wheels installed in a 45 deg and in certain other angles.
  17. has its wheel surfaces aimed to form a parallel interface to the base surface.
  18. has been prevented from overturning by being placed on the centre of gravity and building a tumbler mechanic.
  19. as suggested by its variations, has modules that can be produced in different open and/or closed structures if desired.
  20. has its navigation factor installed in the shape of a joystick. The form can be used easily by all.
  21. is able to turn left and right without occupying space and revolving. The turning performance of the vehicle, which occupies a little larger space than a seating area, is much higher than those of two-wheeler, three-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles.
  22. has one larger and one smaller slanted adjacent wheel that it uses the former while turning right and the latter while turning left (like the singular operation of rows to turn a boat left or right). One stops while the other operates and turning is easily controlled by the joystick without taking up space while revolving.
  23. has one of its wheels approximately two times larger than the other. In variation, these can have a ratio of 1/1.5, 1/2 or 1/3.
