RThropod by Lucas Lopez, Argentina

2012: City 2046. Art, Life & Ingenuity.

Biography

I was born in 1981 in Argentina, South America, in a small town.

After high school, I perfected my techniques of drawing and learning about design. Now I have 30 years – and 6 years working as a designer. I am currently working on my small design studio where I am making a sports car called DONTO-P1, maybe the next rival ariel atom.

Design Brief

The problem in Latin America related to the file resides on insecurity, uncontrolled traffic and irresponsibility.

The solutions: to the insecurity, the R-Thropod is linked genetically with its own unique and impossible to steal. The traffic control in cities will be automated and we will move as a group of fish where no one collides with another. The irresponsible driving can be actively corrected by the R-Thropod providing real time advice as the best co-pilot. this is how my concept car attacks the main problems involved in latin america.
note: please excuse my English.

How does your design answer the anticipated preferences, lifestyles and transportation needs for the people in your country or region?

Clearly, to be honest we must accept that things tend to get worse over time. in 2046 the world will not be aseptic and perfumed with thousands of cars with minimalist designs along large green spaces and happy people everywhere. I think even still see blue skys …
My vision of 2046 is more apocalyptic that most people. I guess the big cities under clouds of toxic smoke and difficult life.

But in most critical situations arise the best and most revolutionary concepts.

What makes your design unique?

What makes it unique to R-thropod are bio-mechanical qualities about the design and manufacture of the vehicle. People will have a car that is anticipating his intentions, moods and will propose solutions in real time like never before.

At birth, our steam cells are taken and preserved till we be in the driving age and purchase a car. It is then when you choose the car model, the steam cells grow inside the body developing an incredible symbiosis. The car will be more than ever, “”a projection of man”” literally.

What technologies, innovations, lifestyle needs and concepts have you incorporated into your design? How?

All the technologies applied in this car derived directly from nature. why use electric energy to light if this can be achieved bio-chemically?

Nast hard and rigid panels in the future everything is flexible, labile and solidarity to human. the ability to partially heal the entire body not just mean spending less money on services but is an element of passive safety. the high level of controlled structural deformation will be one of the best improvements in the quality of life for drivers.the car may interpret the owner’s mood and make different colors according to the manner of driving. For example, if you have bad temper and violently handling, the car will be deep red, so other drivers will know that you should keep away from his car. On the other hand if you are in a magnetic highway autopilot mode as he reads his way to work every day your car will have bright colors and soft, even cool and relaxed.
