Description:
Our team wanted to find a project not often dealt with. We found that many public transportations designed to help people with physical disorders and it was from the respect to those people. However, it was hard to make a solution for those who are getting struggling with psychological problems. In particular, people with panic disorders struggle with agoraphobia and they have a hard time accessing public transportations filled with many people.
So our team decided to make a solution for those people with agoraphobia due to panic disorders. Someone can say that private cars are alternatives for them. But as ordinary people use public transportation at a reasonable price, we found that people with panic disorders also have a demand to access public transportations.
Therefore, we decided to redefine the bus by separating the boarding space. Orbit is composed of a main body and units. Main body roles as a shuttle to carry the units and also a boarding space for the ordinaries. And each unit is designed for a person who has a panic disorder, so he can have his room even in public transportation and reduce his anxiety symptom. Starting with this “ORBIT” project, we want to develop our expertise in this spatial solution for psychological illnesses and contribute to making sure that everyone doesn’t have any disability in moving somewhere. We are confident that our design has succeeded in creating public transportation for people struggling with panic disorder, not just separating space, but also by leading to the coexistence of separate spaces.
