Q.	Why has the name changed from Michelin Challenge Design to Movin’On Challenge Design?
A.	Movin’On, the worlds’ premier gathering for sustainable mobility has made Challenge Design an official pillar of the Movin’On ecosystem. This has been done in recognition of the power of design and the creative mindset in focused on solving complex problems through a deep understanding of human needs and the future of sustainable mobility.

A.	Movin’On Challenge Design is a global initiative to engage the global design community in support of evolving sustainable mobility solutions

Q.	How long has Movin’On Challenge Design held a global design competition?
A.	This will be the 23^rd competition.

Q.	How many entries has Movin’On Challenge Design received in that time?
A.	Through its first 22 challenges, Michelin has received more than 14,500 entries from 134 countries.

Q.	Who is eligible?
A.	Since mobility affects everyone, all are invited to participate. Artists, designers, engineers, architects, city planners, futurists and creatives worldwide are invited to enter either in teams or individually. Anyone interested in future mobility is encouraged to enter.

Q.	How are the annual themes chosen?
A.	The themes are chosen by the Movin’On Challenge Design steering team and jurors in consultation with Movin’On organizers.

Q.	What is the theme for the 2023 Movin’On Challenge Design?
A.	Balancing Sustainability—Design a disruptive mobility solution that balances the three recognized pillars of Sustainability: People, Profit and Planet. Sustainability is a key driver in the acceleration of mobility transformation. Entries should present a vivid example of safe and efficient mobility that meets end user expectations and supports a viable business model for movement of people in an environmentally friendly manner.

A.	The 2023 Movin’On Challenge is now open for entries and will close on February 28, 2023.

Q.	What will jurors be looking for?
A.	The 2023 Movin’On Challenge Design task is to design a disruptive mobility solution that balances the three recognized pillars of sustainability—People, Profit and Planet. Your design should be a vivid example of safe and efficient mobility that meets the end user expectations and supports a viable business model for movement of people in an environmentally friendly manner. Your 2023 design solution to this challenge will include the following elements: Identify the specific urban or suburban area in which your solution will be deployed. Show how the solution can address the interplay between urban and suburban environments in terms of universal application. Describe the primary purpose of the solution. Consider land, maritime and aviation domains. Show how each pillar of sustainability is reflected in the design. Provide a visual representation of your solution (such as digital sketches, graphics, images, renderings, animation or video) showing your design process. Some references to keep in mind: Disruptive means having the potential to improve in an exponential way. A sustainable mobility solution is one that exhibits the attributes of safety, efficiency, accessibility and is environmentally friendly.

Q.	Why is the Jury so important?
A.	Movin’On Challenge Design is pleased to have a prestigious international jury, including the heads of advanced design for major mobility organizations. Challenge Design, inspired by Michelin, is one of the premier global design competitions thanks in part to its jury members.

Q.	What are the prizes?
A.	In addition to being featured on the Movin’On Challenge Design site, the three winning entries and the recipients of Judges’ Awards are announced in a global communications release and are also recognized during the 2023 Movin’On Summit in June. The winners are also invited to participate in a review of their design portfolios by members of the jury and leading international designers.

Q.	Will Movin’On provide financial support to entrants of Movin’On Challenge Design?
A.	No, Movin’On does not provide financial support to entries in Movin’On Challenge Design.
